Senegal, a West African nation, boasts a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean with the Senegal River serving as its western border. With a population of over 17 million, mostly young and with a rapidly growing urban rate, Senegal is considered a lower-middle-income country. Despite development efforts and progress, access to healthcare remains unequal and challenges such as infectious diseases, malnutrition and maternal mortality persist.
