Within the “Increasing demand for HIV services” project, ASKAAN’s main objective was to develop communication strategies and tools aimed at increasing demand for HIV services as part of the rapid testing project in eight regions of Senegal. Through a comprehensive and participatory process, and in close collaboration with the Senegalese government and UNICEF, our team designed, validated, and finalized communication strategies and tools tailored to stimulate demand for HIV services. To facilitate this endeavor, our team organized workshops, delving into the utilization of human-centered design principles in health communication. Additionally, our team engaged in crafting a robust monitoring and evaluation system to assess the utilization of point-of-care services, including viral load measurement and PCR models, thereby ensuring the effectiveness and impact of the efforts to promote HIV service uptake.
