One of Askaan’s specific objectives is to strengthen community involvement in the management of health issues. As health promotion plays an important role in the adoption of new ideas or social products, it is imperative for our experts to analyse the processes of community organisation and participation. To do this, identifying and analysing the behavioural determinants of health problems is at the heart of our working methods, in order to initiate the implementation of inclusive strategies based on context-specific interventions. Health promotion requires a more diversified use of information resources and approaches.
Several strategies are used by Askaan experts to carry out this work.
- Behaviour change communication
- Interpersonal communication
- Mass communication
- Advocacy
- Social mobilisation
- Social marketing
- Media design and production
- Capacity building for stakeholders
- Research: qualitative and quantitative research methods (focus groups, Participatory Action Research Method (PARM), surveys and polls).
To ensure transparency and accountability, Askaan endeavours to communicate the results of its research to the general public so that they can be validated and appropriated for diffusion and use.
